Dear diary, a mistress told my child that he was hatched from a buzzerd egg. My child beleves that this story is true. My poor child is not going out of the house. I feel really upset. So does my child. I never want to see that women again.
I AM GOING TO WAIT.….
The next day my father got whip for nothing with a cowhide. My father killed the overseer. Instead of placing my father in jail, they sell him. They sell my poor father. :(
Dear diary, me and my child have escaped. We are in the middle of hot coastal plains of Georgia with very little food and water. Me and my child are starving. We haven’t eaten food in days. We are feeling weak. I don’t know what to do. If my father was here I bet he would know what to do. Anyway we need to get some sleep. :(

Southeast
We are starting the Southeast Region. Our class saw a video about the Southeast and I learned new things from it. One of the facts that was pretty interesting to me is that the farmers grow a lot of crops there, such as sugarcane, peas, beans, tobacco, cotton, etc. that become cash crops. The Southeast has a lot of coil, so that means that coal mining business is well developed. That job looks very dangerous, because if there is gas in the ground, it could explode. Also, it has very little air.
I already knew that there are a lot of wetlands in the Southeast. Everglades is one of those wetlands that I saw few times when I was in Florida.
I have been to the Southeast many times, but just one state – Florida. I have visited five cities while in Florida: Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Sarasota, Tampa, and Orlando. Each city had something that stood out to me.
We went to Salvador Dali museum in Tampa. He is a very famous artist who lived in the 20th century. His artwork and sculptures are really beautiful and unique.
There is a bridge that is called Skyway when you drive from Tampa to Sarasota and back. At night the bridge lights up just like the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Every child knows what Orlando has to offer. It is a home to Disneyworld and Universal Studios. There is not much to say about it, besides that it is so much FUN to visit these parks.
In Miami I liked walking along the famous South Beach that has small trendy shops, expensive restaurants and bars with live music that are outside. Also, there is another place in Miami that is very cute – Bayside Marketplace.
Every time when in Sarasota we visit St. Armands Circle. It is an island of small boutiques, fine restaurants and even small art galleries. One of those galleries has a few artwork pieces of Salvador Dali.
There is one restaurant which I love that has two locations, one in Miami and one in Ft. Lauderdale. It is called OPA! They have beautiful belly dancers that dance right on your table and sometimes they invite few of the customers to join them. I danced on the table once too.
Writing this makes me want to go there again. Lucky me I am going there again this May. See you next time.

Southwest - San Antonio
My first stop in the Southwest is San Antonio. It is the seventh-largest city in US and the second-largest city in the state of Texas.
San Antonio has many historical sites, national parks, and museums. I chose three places to visit: Alamo, San Fernando Cathedral, and River Walk.
You may know that the Alamo is an important historical landmark, but it is also the state’s most popular tourist attraction. There was a battle that took place at the Alamo building during the Texas Revolution and made the Alamo famous. A lot of Texans’ died during that battle, including some of the heroes such as Davie Crockett and William Travis.
San Fernando Cathedral is my second stop. It is a historical monument built in 1731. It is the oldest active cathedral in the US.
Last but not least is the San Antonio River Walk. It is a system of walkways along the San Antonio River. The sidewalks of the River Walk are lined with shops and restaurants. There is the River Parade called Fiesta San Antonio that takes place every spring and features flowery floats.
Well, that was a wonderful trip. I wish, you were all there with me. See you next time in the Grand Canyon.

The Southwest
Right now we are learning about the Southwest and so far it looks like an interesting region to visit and discover more about.
I would love to learn more about the people, the Indian tribes, how difficult it was to live there back then. I have also heard something about Alamo, but don’t know the history behind it, so that would be another topic for me to explore.
Unfortunately, I have never been in the Southwest, so it should be an exciting trip. My mom and my grandmother were in Dallas, Texas many years ago. Actually, my mom was pregnant with me at that time, so I guess you could say I was there too:). She told me a little about her trip there and about a Sixth Floor Museum, which is dedicated to the John F. Kennedy (one of the most famous Presidents of the United States) and his assassination.
I hope we’ll learn more interesting facts about Southwest as we continue our trip.
See you next time.

The West - Utah
Here I am, in Utah, ready to start my trip. Utah is known for many things, like its dry deserts, pine forests, mountains, popular ski resorts, and especially it’s National Parks. Utah has five National Parks and has the third most national parks of any state after Alaska and California.
My first place to visit in Utah will be the Arches National Park. I have read that it preserves over 2000 sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arches, which is such a gorgeous site, that it is a must-see.
Another great National Park is Bryce Canyon National Park. You might think that Bryce Canyon is a canyon, but it is not. It is giant natural amphitheater created by erosion. Its view is just breathtaking.
My last visited park in Utah is Zion National Park. Zion has unique geography and it has many plants and animals. Zion contains mountains, forests, arches, canyons, and rivers. Well, it’s time to end my trip.
See you next time in California. :)

The West
Midwest is a wonderful place, but I am curious for more.
While in the West, I want to learn more about the gold rush and what it is like to live in the West compare to other regions.
The Midwest consists mostly of prairies, valleys, and some mountains. I wonder if the West has similar landscapes or it is made mostly of mountains and deserts. Also, I would like to know if there is any farming in the West, what people grow there, what kind of animals they raise on the farms.
I have been in the West when I was little. I visited Las Vegas and Utah when I was 3 years old. Obviously, I don’t remember much of that trip, but just like I mentioned in my previous journal, I remember the beautiful red color of the mountains.
The West region is the biggest region in the U.S., so there are a lot of places I would love to visit. I decided to visit only four states in the West. I am going to travel to Utah, Hawaii, Alaska, and California. I hope it turns out to be a fun trip. :)
